Claims raised by independent outlets and writers where coverage by the funded desks has been absent or marginal.
This is a log, not a second daily essay. A row is added when a named person raises a specific claim and, on the day it was checked, the funded newsrooms' coverage was absent or marginal. Where a primary document supports the claim, it is linked. The log records the state of coverage on the date shown; it is not updated afterwards, so later coverage by a funded desk is not reflected here.
Funded desks checked means, at minimum: CBC, The Globe and Mail, CTV, Global News, and the relevant Postmedia or local chain. What "funded" means is set out on the Landscape page.
